HUG Media Concept, Nigeria and Transhuman Project, East Africa are thrilled to announce their collaborative effort in bringing the poignant short film “Amita” to life. Tackling themes of love, acceptance, and resilience, “Amita” promises to captivate audiences worldwide with its powerful storytelling and thought-provoking narrative.

Set in the heart of Africa, “Amita” follows the journey of a HIV positive trans woman as she navigates the complexities of love and family acceptance. Directed by Godwin Harrison, the film sheds light on the struggles faced by individuals who dare to live authentically in a society that often shuns their existence.
At its core, ‘Amita’ is a story of courage and perseverance,” said Godwin Harrison. It’s about overcoming obstacles, embracing one’s true self, and finding love in unexpected places. Through this film, we hope to spark conversations about empathy, inclusion, and the universal longing for acceptance.

The collaboration between HUG Media Concept, Nigeria and Transhuman Project, East Africa underscores the power of storytelling in fostering social change and promoting diversity and inclusion. By bringing together talents from across the African continent, “Amita” showcases the rich tapestry of voices and experiences that define Africa’s cultural landscape.

“Amita” is in post production and will be premiering at Film Festivals where it is expected to make a significant impact on audiences.
